Mixing Records As They Go Round - Social Experiment & DJ Kicks

One of the benefits of having such a successful year of traveling and releasing music is meeting amazing people along the way, and one of the coolest was Jonny White. One half of now massive Art Department, longtime Toronto tastemaker and No.19 Music label boss, Jonny knows how to keep it moving. So when he asked us to mix the first official mix CD on his label, we jumped at the opportunity. when the mix drops in February it also marks our first official mix CD! Like that's not exciting enough, soon after that we were enlisted by K7 Records to join forces with our Wolf + Lamb brothers and mix the new edition of their legendary DJ Kicks series With the help of our W+L family we've turned out an emotional mix of almost entirely exclusive material set for release in March.

Sweet Sixteen - Press & Awards for 2010

2010 was a banner year for The Clap. From touring stops all over Europe, North + South America and Japan, to Extravaganza becoming one of the songs of the summer and a selection to both Mixmag and DJ Mag's top 10 tracks of the year, we stayed busy and productive all year long. However nothing prepared us for the bombshell that was being voted 16th in Resident Advisor's annual DJ poll. While we try not to read too much into this kind of stuff, it means the world to us that you took the time to vote and it's a testament to how supportive all you clappers have been this year and always. So a big thank you once again, and here's to many more adventures in 2011 and beyond!

Raving Like It's '92 - Yo 90's Jam Takes Over The World

When we started 90's Jam way back in '05, we never would have guessed that we'd end up throwing a massive 90's themed warehouse rave in London with Danny Rampling, Robert Owens & Rob Mello. However, 2010 was the year that our favorite decade really came back and our YoYoYo Jam took over the world! From interviews with Defected, to totally crazy Wednesday nights in East London, to the amazing video on your left of Robert Owens shopping for his 90's Rave costume, this was the year that we got to truly realize our vision for bringing the 90's back, in full on marble APEX track suits! One of the most bodacious benefits was putting together lists of our top 90's jams, and you can check these out on Beatportal, Dazed Digital and Time Out London. Also, don't forget to check out our 90's house mix on Mixcloud.

EFUNK: The Mixtape

Almost every year since we started going to WMC 9 years ago we've created a special mix to showcase the current sound of Soul Clap. We usually make some simple cover art, do about 100 copies and give them to new friends and old, but then came 2010. With a release scheduled on Crosstown Rebels and our two biggest gigs at WMC, we decided it was time to take it to the next level and put together a 45 track mix, complete with full cover art and chock full of exclusive tracks, edits and drops from some of our closest homies (which just may include some major names in techno :). Lucky for you we made enough copies for everyone so now you can buy the mixtape on the Phonica Records website, and remember Everybodys Freaky Under Natures Kingdom!

The RnB FreE.P.

The "RnB FreE.P." is the first installment of Soul Clap's free music series. This series will showcase unreleased, but dance-floor-tested material for free download on our website. This first release is a special thank you to our fans and supporters this holiday season. With an R 'n B theme, the FreE.P. features reworks and remixes of famed Bostonian Bobby Brown's late 80's hit "Humpin Around", fallen diva Aaliyah's seductive "Rock The Boat" and 90's Waco Texas based pop quintet Hi-Five's Kissing Game all mastered by Gadi Mizrahi @ The Marcy Hotel.
